TAP WATER.....IS IT SAFE?

For the longest time I believed that our municipalities were doing their best to filter our drinking water for human consumption and I was right, the municipalities are doing their best to filter out contaminates from our drinking water. The water you drink is safe but there are many chemicals left in the water system that can't be taken out without furthering water filtering.

They include:

  • Aluminum

  • Ammonia

  • Arsenic

  • Barium

  • Cadmium

  • Chlorine

  • Chromium

  • Copper

  • Nitrate

  • Mercury

  • Lead

  • Pharmaceuticals

  • and more!

As a child I used to hate when it rained. I knew that raw sewage was flowing into our local lake, because 50 years ago, our city water pipes were 100 years old and they needed to be overhauled. Some have been overhauled but many pipes still need to be replacement. Cities are overburdened with debt and with more pressing issues, especially with the pandemic. But what is more important, really, than our drinking water?

We buy plastic water bottles and local grocery filtering systems and they certainly help but how many impurities are taken out of these options? How often is water tested from these water bottle companies? What happens to this water when the bottle is sitting in the hot sun?

Plastic bottles will never breakdown...EVER!

Their are many great Water Filter Systems available. We happen to like ProOne/Propur and Pentair but it is always great to see what is out there. Between 100 to 200 contaminants are taken out of your tap water. The more you spend on a water filter system the more contaminants you will filter out. Water filters can be included in your whole household water system, under your kitchen sink, your shower head, pitcher in your refrigerator or sports bottle. You can spent a lot or a little, depending on your beliefs and your budget. It is always good to do your homework. :-)
