Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being. It affects how we feel, think and act. Mental health is crucial at every stage of our life from childhood, right through to the golden years. In nature or even viewing images of nature, it reduces anger, fear and stress and increases a positive state of mind.

Get some nature therapy....we all need it!


Try to eat your lunch outside near a tree, by a garden, by the water. Grow plants in your home, in your backyard or on your balcony. Meditate under a tree, by a lake or fountain, an open and quiet space. Journal in the sunshine. Walk barefoot on the grass or dip your feet into a lake, a fountain or sprinkler. Inhale the aroma of beautiful flowers.

Marvel at the nature around you.

Exercising outdoors, walking, hiking, jogging, swimming, biking, kayaking, rollerblading and other activities increases our production of endorphins. Chemicals produced by the body to relieve stress and pain. A natural high. Making you feel calm and clear-headed. Endorphins work like opioid drugs but naturally!

That is why we gravitate to the beach, to the lake, to the bike trails, to the forest, to the park, to our garden, to the country, to the cottage.....
